According to Andrew Ivins of 247Sports, Dallas Turner will announce his college commitment next Wednesday, July 1. Turner is a four-star defensive end out of St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The 247Sports Composite ranks him as the number two weak-side defensive end in the nation, the 10th overall recruit in Florida and the 44th overall recruit nationally. He will choose between Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Michigan and Oklahoma.

Turner was offered a scholarship by Alabama in December of 2019, he was able to visit Tuscaloosa in February for Junior Day prior to the pandemic. It was the final college visit he was able to partake in prior to the NCAA mandating a dead period. He is primarily being courted by running back's coach Charles Huff and defensive coordinator Pete Golding.

Turner told Ivins about Alabama, "They are in it because at Alabama, you can reach your full potential and be the best version of yourself. That has always been a goal for me and I try to live to be the best version of myself, everyday. I want to be as great as I can be."

Huff has already secured commitments from JC Latham and Jacorey Brooks. Golding has been responsible for commitments from Deontae Lawson, Kaine Williams and Ian Jackson.

As a junior he was named South Florida Sun Sentinel's Broward County Class 5A-1A Defensive Player of the Year, he racked up 75 tackles and 15 sacks at American Heritage Plantation. Turner is compared to former Clemson and current Miami Dolphins defensive end, Shaq Lawson.

The 247Sports experts predict the 6-foot-4 235 pound lineman to choose the Crimson Tide over Georgia. Steve Wiltfong, 247Sports Director of Recruiting has been among the lead analysts to predict Turner will select Alabama. Wiltfong is currently 277/279 on his predictions for the 2021 class.

Turner will make his prediction at noon on July 1 on CBS Sports HQ.
