Coach Oats is probably somewhere smiling right now as 5-star commit J.D. Davison has put the state on notice with a historical performance.

Davidson continues to add on to his impressive young career after a game winning shot to take home the state championship vs Barbour County High. Capping off a season in which he averaged 33.4 points, 12 rebounds, six steals, five assists, and four blocks a game.

While taking home Gatorade Player of The Year Davison committed to the University of Alabama in early October. Davidson chose Alabama over schools such as Michigan, Florida State, Auburn, and Kansas.

The 6-3 175 guard from Letochatchee, Alabama is currently ranked as the tenth best player in his class and the number one point guard in the nation. With a game that is comparable to Ja Morant, Davidson is a supremely athletic point who's able to attack the rim at an elite level.

His jump shot (which seems to have improved) is solid enough to keep the defense on their heels at all times and his ability to get his teammates involved in the offense makes him the prototype of the new age point guard.

Davison seems to be on a mission for back to back state rings. As he progresses through the season it will be interesting to see what improvements he'll make before making his debut in the Coleman Coliseum.
