VIDEO: Alabama Football Holds Second Evening Practice of 2017 Fall Camp

The University of Alabama football team held its second evening practice of fall camp on Tuesday with a two-hour session in full pads at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields.

The Tide kicked off practice at 7:30 p.m. CT and practiced for roughly two hours during the 11^th session of fall camp. Alabama will hold a string of 25 practices before starting the new campaign in Atlanta, Ga., facing off with No. 3 Florida State in the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The game between the Tide and Seminoles is scheduled for Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. CT, with the game airing on ABC.

Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts has been named to the 2017 Earl Campbell Award watch list, award organizers announced earlier this afternoon, becoming one of 45 players to be recognized on the list. The Houston, Texas, native was one of five finalists for last year’s award, which was eventually won by D’Onta Foreman from the University of Texas.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award is presented to the top offensive player in NCAA Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity; specifically tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals. The award is limited to players who were born in the state of Texas, attended a Texas high school, or attended a Texas junior college or university.
