The University of Alabama has made in-state recruiting a priority for 2019 and that class is led by a duo from Thompson High School in Alabaster.

Quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa and offensive lineman Amari Kight are two of the top players in the state of Alabama and the teammates helped lead the Warriors to the 7A semifinals last season. This year, the team is looking to take the next step and play for a state championship.

Practice and preparation has already begun for Thompson High School, and the team recently took on Clay-Chalkville in a spring game. That squad was led by another Crimson Tide commit, defensive lineman DJ Dale.

With the future of Alabama football on display, Scott Griffin of Smashmouth Radio went out to the game to keep an eye on these three standouts. In this blog, we focus attention on the four-star offensive lineman. here's what Griffin said about him:

You can't sketch a better left tackle body than the one Amari Kight has for Thompson High School. Kight (#78 for Thompson High School) is 6'8 and 310 pounds and as you can see, not near as big and strong as he will be once he makes it to Alabama's campus.  Kight is a 4 star by some services and a 5 star by some but he adds to the already major commit haul the Tide is enjoying in it's 2019 offensive line class.  If these commits remain solid, Alabama could have their best offensive line class in their history.  Kight protects the blindside of fellow Bama commit Taulia Tagovailoa.
