Watch the Alabama Quarterbacks Throw During Day 12 of Fall Camp
The University of Alabama football team continued fall workouts on Wednesday afternoon with a two-hour session in full pads at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields.
The Tide kicked off practice at 2:30 p.m. with a narrowed focus toward Saturday’s second scrimmage of fall camp. The team practiced for roughly two hours during the 12th session of the fall. Alabama will hold a total of 25 practices leading up to the season opener with Florida State at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. The Crimson Tide and Seminoles will play in the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game with a 7 p.m. CT kickoff on ABC.
Prior to practice, Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts was selected to the 2017 Manning Award watch list, the Allstate Sugar Bowl announced Wednesday morning, becoming one of 30 quarterbacks to be recognized on the list. The sophomore signal-caller was one of 10 finalists for last year’s award.
The Manning Award, sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl, was created in honor of the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. In its first 12 years, the Manning Award has recognized quarterbacks from 11 different schools and from four different conferences. The SEC leads the way with four Manning Award winners (Johnny Manziel, Cam Newton, JaMarcus Russell and Tim Tebow).
