It was a wild and wooly weekend in West Alabama on the football field, from 7A down to to the Christian schools. Here's a look at what transpired in week two:

Led by five rushing touchdowns from quarterback Ethan Crawford, Hillcrest held off Armwood of Florida 35-25.

Tuscaloosa County and quarterback Sawyer Deerman went on the road and beat Bessemer City 28-7.

Bibb County got a huge road win in Gordo 56-21.

After a 30-year hiatus, American Christian beat rival Tuscaloosa Academy 35-0.

Pickens County crushed Brilliant 52-0,

Brookwood held off West Blocton 14-13.

Holy Spirit fought gamely but South Lamar was too much and  the Stallions won 41-13.

Paul W. Bryant fell on the road to Minor 37-8.

Central fell to 0-2 after Woodlawn won at  Falcon Field, 22-7.

Hale County downed county foe Greensboro 32-16.

Fayette County topped Sulligent in a shootout 47-37.

Northside had a happy bus ride home after the Rams won at Cleburne County 13-7 in Heflin.

And, in a shootout to 8-man ball, quarterback Zach Williams had the game of his life running and throwing to lead the Chargers of North River Christian over East Central, 67-61.
