West Blocton Tigers versus American Christian Academy Preview

West Blocton (4-3, 3-1) welcomes region opponent American Christian Academy (5-2, 4-0) Friday night.

The Patriots have won five of the six matchups against the Tigers, including a win last year where the Patriots dominated the Tigers 48-16. The last time West Blocton beat ACA was in 2014 where the Tigers won 36-33.

After a rough start to the season losing their first three games, the West Blocton Tigers have went on a run winning their last four matchups.

The Tigers last week beat a winless Holt team 57-0. Freshman quarterback Trey Lawley finished the night with three passing touchdowns for the Tigers, with sophomore receiver Tyseon Smith catching all three of the passing touchdowns.

American Christian Academy comes into this game winning their four regional matchups this season, including a win last week on the road at Dallas County. The Patriots defeated the Hornets 35-10.

Quarterback Carson Sute finished the night with 237 passing yards and five touchdowns against the Hornets.

West Blocton hopes to extend their winning streak to five as ACA hopes to keep their undefeated regional record intact Friday night.

The Region 3, Class 4A matchup will be played at West Blocton Friday night, with kickoff at 7 p.m. CST.
