What You Need to Know About Tide Hoops’ Gonzaga “Rematch”

Okay folks, make sure you set your alarms for 10 a.m. sharp, because that is when Ticket Master opens up ticket sales for Alabama vs. Gonzaga in what should be an exciting rematch in the BJCC in Birmingham on December 17. This matchup should provide fireworks all around as the Crimson Tide looks to sweep the series that started last year in Seattle.

After losing 7-footer Chet Holmgren to the Oklahoma City Thunder number 2 overall in this years NBA draft, the Zags will have to find a different motor for their machine and they think they have. Unanimous AP preseason All-American Drew Timme decided to forgo the NBA draft and stay with the Bulldogs of Spokane for another season.

Averaging 18.4, 6.8, and 2.8 last year for Gonzaga, Timme looks to be the anchor of this team for the upcoming season and hopes to take his team on another deep March Madness run.

Gonzaga wasn’t the only team of this tandem to lose players to the NBA draft. The Crimson Tide said goodbye to Jaden Shackelford and JD Davison and are saying hello to freshman Brandon Miller. Miller put on a certified show for Tide fans this offseason in scrimmage games, lighting up the court on both ends of the floor.

Nate Oats and company also have high hopes this season and are looking to at least make the Final Four for the first time in program history. This rematch is a must-watch for both Gonzaga and Alabama fans and will certainly help set the expectations for both of these teams on December 17^th.
