Cecil Hurt of the Tuscaloosa News joined Host of "Southern Fried Sports" Travis Reier Tuesday morning for his weekly check-in after Alabama's 38-7 victory over Mississippi State.

"I asked Coach Bryant once who his favorite player to coach was," Hurt told Host Reier. "He gave an answer about so many great players, you couldn't rank them."

With the probability of Tua Tagovailoa playing another down for Alabama looking minimal, Hurt decided to go ahead and rank his pantheon of all-time Alabama greats.

"I changed the question up a little," Hurt added. "I asked him who the best player he ever saw was, and he said Don Hudson was the best player to walk across the football field."

"Coach Bryant has seen some players," Hurt continued. "There was no close second to Don Hudson. You have to include him, then you get to Joe Namath who was certainly charismatic."
