Which NASCAR Cup Series Drivers Support Alabama Football?
The NASCAR Cup Series postseason started last Sunday at Darlington Raceway with a 500-mile playoff race to kick off the Round of 16.
Before taking to the track, drivers participated in a media day in Charlotte, North Carolina with members of the press.
While attending the event, Charlotte Motor Speedway's social media team asked a handful of drivers who their favorite college football teams were, ahead of the 2022 season's first weekend.
Fan favorites such as Chase Elliott and William Byron picked Georgia and Clemson, a pair of well-known names went with the Crimson Tide.
NASCAR recently signed a deal with Alabama Athletics to sponsor radio shows and other forms of media, which can be best explained here.
Of note, Kyle Busch, driver of the No. 18 M&M's Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing and Alex Bowman, driver of the No. 48 Ally Chevrolet Camaro for Hendrick Motorsports chose the Tide as their team.
Take a look below
Busch (37) and Bowman (29) are both in the Round of 16 for the 2022 Cup Series playoffs, which now have one race down, won by Erik Jones on Sunday (non-playoff driver) to bring the total number of winners in the Cup Series to 17 on the year.
NASCAR returns this weekend at Kansas Speedway before heading south again for Bristol in a week. You can catch this weekend's race live on the USA Network at 2:00 p.m. CT, but not before the ARCA Menards Series, Camping World Truck Series and Xfinity Series take to the track first.
A full weekend of racing action is on the horizon, as cars get ready to turn left for the fans' satisfaction. Will we see Kyle Busch or Alex Bowman rocking Crimson and White at a game this fall? Only time will tell.
Maybe Larry McReynolds can give them a few pointers on how to sing Rammer Jammer or Yea Alabama!
