Bama in the NFL: Playoff Edition – Wild Card Recap
The first round of the playoffs was quite the show. There were some huge game winning drives, and some blunders. Lets break down the ex-Bama stars that made the impacts in these matchups.
Packers - 27 at Bears - 31:
Josh Jacobs (Packers) - Jacobs had a modest day on the ground in the playoffs. Rushing 19 times for 55 yards. It was a disappointing loss to say the least. With an 18 point lead late in the game, things got out off hand when the bears made it a six point game within four minutes. Jacobs should have a good offseason of rest and go into next year as the primary feature back in Green Bay once again.
Niners - 23 at Eagles - 19:
Jalen Hurts (Eagles) - Hurts had a a clean game when it came to turnovers. The drops throughout the game from Brown, especially at the end of the game were the difference maker. Hurts tossed the rock for 168 yards completing 20 of 35 passes in the process. A tough loss for the defending champions. It remains to be seen the decision the Eagles make on Brown's future with the team. Hurts will clearly remain the franchise qb going into next season.
DeVonta Smith (Eagles) - Smith was s reliable as ever, bringing in eight of 11 targets for 70 yards. He was moving the chains and catching contested passes as usual. Smith was one of the highlights of this offense in this game, and should return as such next season.
Rams - 34 at Panthers- 31:
Bryce Young (Panthers) - Young played well in his first career playoff game against a tough Rams defense. He threw for 264 yards and a touchdown, completing 21 of 40 passes. He also added 24 yards and a touchdown with his legs. It was a tough loss, yes but many bright spots for this Panthers team heading into next season.
That does it for the Wild Card weekend recap. Check back Thursday for the Divisional Round outlook.
