Will Jalen Milroe Make the Big Jump?
Alabama Football is trying to get their groove back in hopes for a national championship this season. However, now that the 2021 Heisman winner Bryce Young is leaving for the NFL Draft, the player that Bama fans are keeping a look out for is Jalen Milroe.
Milroe is going into his third year with the Crimson Tide. He got his first start last season against the Texas A&M Aggies, where he threw for three touchdowns and one interception in the 24-20 win. However, Milroe kept the game close with the interception plus two lost fumbles. This brings uncertainty to Bama fans about Milroe's role as QB1 this season.

Milroe is turning heads, however, through a viral video from spring practice, where he threw a deep ball to Ja'Corey Brooks in the end zone while Kool-Aid McKinstry kept him contested. No one really knew who threw that ball through the video but was confirmed by Nick Saban that Milroe threw that ball a day or two later.
Mac Jones and AJ McCarron have been in the same position as Milroe in their first few years with the Tide. They both went on to win at least one national championship in their breakout seasons. If Milroe wants to continue that trend, he must win the quarterback battle against Ty Simpson, limit turnovers, work on ball security, and continue making plays with both his arms and legs.
The A-Day game is where he must shine in order to prove doubters wrong and show that he could breakout and lead the Tide to another national championship.
