Will the Stallions Win Another Title This Season?
The Birmingham Stallions dominated the USFL last season as they were crowned league champions. Players like J'Mar Smith, Scooby Wright, and even former Alabama running back Bo Scarborough were some of the biggest star contributors to the Stallions' championship run.
The reason for the team's success, however, might've been that all USFL games were played in Birmingham's Protective Stadium and Legion Field, meaning the Stallions had home-field advantage in every single game except the playoff which were played in the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio, due to Birmingham preparing to host the 2022 World Games.
This year, there will be three more venues for the USFL in the regular season, Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis, Ford Field in Detroit, and Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium where the playoffs were held last season.
If the Stallions want to repeat this season, they must not rely on home-field advantage and stay consistent throughout the regular season.
