Two Tide Players Named Midseason All-American by The Sporting News
Two Crimson Tide stars were named midseason All-Americans by The Sporting News, which is one of the networks used when determining Consensus All-American status at the end of the season.

Alabama's quarterback, Ty Simpson, and center, Parker Brailsford, were named midseason All-Americans by The Sporting News. Simpson and Brailsford were the only Crimson Tide players named to the list.
In total, nine SEC players appear on the Midseason All-American list. Two former Alabama players were midseason All-Americans as well, with Michigan running back Justice Haynes and Ohio State safety Caleb Downs on the list as well.
For Alabama, Ty Simpson has elevated himself into the Hesman Trophy conversation this season. Through Alabama's first six games of the year, Simpson has completed 70.9% of his passes for 1,678 yards and 16 touchdowns, adding 58 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground. According to the current Heisman Trophy odds, Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson is the second-betting favorite to win the award at +320. Miami's Carson Beck is the lone player ahead of him at +300 odds.
Parker Brailsford has been a mainstay along the Alabama offensive line and has not allowed a sack in four of the six games Alabama has played so far. The Crimson Tide's center had a team-high 40 knockdown blocks through the first five games of the season.
No. 6 Alabama will host No. 11 Tennessee this Saturday, October 18, inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT.
