LSU placed a league-leading four selections on the 15th-annual Southeastern Conference Coaches All-Freshman Football Team, it was announced Thursday. The teams were voted on by the SEC’s 14 head coaches, who were not able to vote for their own players.

Including LSU’s four selections, five SEC institutions placed three or more members each on the 2014 SEC All-Freshman Team.

Two players – LSU’s Leonard Fournette and Texas A&M’s Speedy Noil - earned two selections to this year’s SEC All-Freshman Team. Fournette was honored as both a running back and an all-purpose athlete, while Noil garnered recognition as a wide receiver and as a return specialist.

Georgia’s Nick Chubb, an SEC All-Freshman Team selection at running back, was named the SEC’s Freshman of the Year on Wednesday. He also was a first-team All-SEC honoree.
