2026 4-Star DL De-Commits from Alabama
The Alabama Crimson Tide saw significant movement in the transfer portal, with former five-star defensive back Jaylen Mbakwe announcing he's entering the transfer portal.
The bad news continued on Monday night, with four-star defensive lineman Vodney Cleveland announcing his de-commitment from the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Cleveland is a four-star defensive lineman from Parker High School in Birmingham, Alabama. Parker recently won a state championship, defeating Saraland High School in the 6A State Championship.
Cleveland sits at 6-foot-3 and 305 pounds as a defensive lineman in the 2026 class. He is currently rated as a top-100 prospect in the 2026 class, sitting at No. 95 overall. Cleveland is ranked as the No. 7 player in the state of Alabama and the no. 7 defensive lineman in the country.
Cleveland committed to Alabama over Tennessee, Auburn, and Miami. He also held offers from Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, and LSU, among others.
He was offered by the University of Alabama on June 10 of this year. The primary recruiter for Cleveland was Alabama defensive line coach Freddie Roach.
Cleveland has taken six unofficial visits to Alabama so far, with all six coming in 2024 since Alabama hired Kalen DeBoer on January 10.
Alabama currently has no commitments in the 2026 recruiting class.
