Alabama’s Playoff Hopes Hanging on by a Thread in Latest CFP Rankings
Alabama walked into Norman, Oklahoma with everything in front of them. With Missouri's victory over the Mississippi State Bulldogs, Alabama controlled its own destiny to Atlanta for the SEC Championship, and potentially even a first-round bye into the College Football Playoffs.
Alabama left Oklahoma embarrassed in a 24-3 loss where the Crimson Tide could not even score a single touchdown (legally). it was a pitiful performance by the Crimson Tide against the Sooners, and Alabama lost any hope of an SEC championship game appearance or a bye into the College Football Playoffs.
However...
The playoff hopes are not dead yet according to the latest playoff rankings. Alabama will have to handle its business against Auburn this weekend and hope for some chaos, but there is still an outside chance Alabama will make the playoffs as a three-loss team according to the Playoff Committee.
