The Crimson Tide men's basketball team faced a familiar face in the 2025 Rocket City Classic, with Antoine Pettway leading the Kennesaw State Owls to Huntsville, Alabama, against the Crimson Tide. Alabama secured an 11-point victory over the Owls, thanks largely to a big-time performance from big man Aiden Sherrell. Sherrell scored a career high 21 points in Alabama's 92-81 victory over Kennesaw State.

It was Sherrell's fourth double-digit scoring performance of the season, and the first time he's scored over 20 points in a single game. Sherrell paired the 20-point performance with seven rebounds and an assist for the Crimson Tide.

He was joined by Labaron Philon, Aden Holloway, and Jalil Bethea in double-digit scoring. Philon and Holloway both had 17 points, while Bethea had 11. As a trio, Philon, Holloway, and Bethea had six of Alabama's 10 made threes against Kennesaw State.

It was another meaningful performance from freshman forward Amari Allen, who had nine points (fifth-most on the team) and led the Tide in rebounds with eight. Allen fought foul trouble during the game, as he ended with four fouls for the Crimson Tide. As a team, Alabama had 16 fouls.

The first half was a prominent performance for Alabama, with the Tide taking a 54-28 lead into the halftime break. The Tide was outscored 53-38 in the second half after allowing Pettway and the Owls to fight back in the game. As a team, Alabama shot 44% from the floor and 32% from three-point range, but was out-rebounded 46-41 by the Owls. Alabama had just eight turnovers on the afternoon, however, with Oats and the Tide trying to clean up that category.

Alabama advances to 9-3 on the season, with one final non-SEC game left in the regular season. The Crimson Tide will host the Yale Bulldogs on Monday, December 29.
