Alabama Names Team Captains Ahead of 2026 Season

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Alabama has officially announced its captains for the 2026 football season: junior wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams, junior cornerback Zabien Brown, and senior safety Bray Hubbard, according to Yea Alabama.

Hubbard, a senior from Ocean Springs, Mississippi, is a commander in the Crimson Tide's secondary and was named an All-American last season. He was named to the Preseason All-SEC and was a consensus All-American. In 2025, Hubbard started all 15 games for the Crimson Tide, totaling 79 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, and led the Crimson Tide with four interceptions and six pass breakups. He also forced three fumbles in 2025.

Brown, a junior from Santa Ana, California, has been a two-year starter for the Crimson Tide in the secondary. He is the first true cornerback to notch two pick-sixes in one season (99 yards vs. Tennessee, 50 yards at Oklahoma) since Antonio Langham in 1992. Last season, Brown totaled 39 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a team-leading six pass breakups, and a forced fumble.

Coleman-Williams, a junior from Saraland, Alabama, has also been a two-year starter for the Crimson Tide at wide receiver. He burst onto the scene as a true freshman, leading Alabama with 865 yards and eight touchdowns on 48 receptions. In 2025, Coleman-Williams totaled 49 receptions for 689 yards and four touchdowns across his 12 starts and 14 game appearances, including a multi-touchdown day against Wisconsin.

Alabama is scheduled to open the 2026 season hosting the East Carolina Pirates on Saturday, September 5. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. CT.
