Alabama Adds One More OL Before Spring Camp

According to Yea Alabama, the Crimson Tide's Name, Image, and Likeness Collective, Alabama has added one more body to the offensive line ahead of spring camp.

Jayden Hobson, a Tuscaloosa native and former Hillcrest High School and Mississippi State offensive lineman, has joined the Alabama roster and will wear number 48 during spring practice.

Hobson, a 6-foot-5, 295-pound offensive tackle, is a former three-star recruit out of Hillcrest High School in the 2023 recruiting class. He was the No. 1,678 overall player and the No. 132 offensive tackle in the country according to 247 Sports composite rankings. He was the No.—67 overall prospect in Alabama in 2023.

Hobson played at Bryant High School before becoming a Hillcrest Patriot as a senior. He originally committed to Mississippi State over West Virginia, Southern Miss, and others. Mississippi State and West Virginia were his only power five offers in high school.

He transferred to South Alabama in 2024, but did not play for the Jaguars.

Alabama's spring practice starts tomorrow, Monday, March 3. Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer will address the media following practice around mid-day on Monday.

Offensive tackle depth has been a concern for Alabama with the departure of Elijah Pritchett via the transfer portal in January. Alabama did add Jackson Lloyd and Mal Waldrep as offensive tackles in the 2025 recruiting class, in addition to Arkel Anugwom via the transfer portal from Ball State.
