Alabama Athletics Tops Graduation Success Rates
The University of Alabama continues to make legends, with the Crimson Tide leading the entirety of the NCAA in graduation success rate.
According to a release by the university, Alabama athletics posted an all-time high graduation success rate of 96 percent; an improvement of one mark from last season.
Alabama is tied for the lead in the country with Clemson, Louisville, Michigan, and Virginia, and tied with Vanderbilt atop the SEC.
A total of 15 Alabama athletics teams scored a 90 or above, with 11 programs scoring a perfect 100, leading the SEC.
The average GSR for all NCAA Division One athletes is 91. This year's GSR encompasses student-athletes enrolled from 2014 to 2017.
Alabama Football posted a program-best 97, leading the SEC for the first time in program history, ranking third nationally. It marks the 16th straight year the football team has ranked among SEC teams in the top four of GSR.
The Men's Basketball team posted a perfect 100, its 10th consecutive year posting a perfect grade, leading the SEC.
In addition to football and men's basketball, Alabama led the SEC with perfect GSR scores for men's and women's golf, gymnastics, rowing, soccer, men's and women's swimming and diving, softball, women's tennis, and volleyball.
Baseball (94) also finished in the top three of SEC programs.
Women's Cross Country/ track and field (98) and men's tennis (90) were the other two programs at Alabama boasting a 90 or better in this year's GSR report.
Alabama ranks No. 6 nationally among power conference schools in overall Graduation Success Rate. The Crimson Tide is only behind Notre Dame (99), Boston College (98), Northwestern (98), Stanford (98) and Duke (97).
