Friday, the Alabama Crimson Tide baseball program will return to the diamond for its first official scrimmage since October. The Tide enters the final weeks of preseason sitting at No. 20 in the initial D1 Baseball rankings poll, although it is not ranked in any other publication as of this writing.

Alabama has chosen to open the gates, with fans able to come out and watch the Tide all three days this weekend at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

Friday, the Tide will begin practice at 1:00 p.m. before starting scrimmage play at 2:30. On Saturday, Alabama hits the field at 11:00 a.m. before a 12:30 first pitch in scrimmage play. In the Sunday finale, the Tide will mirror its Saturday start times to wrap things up.

Fans are welcome to attend all three days, with outside food and beverage permitted for spectators. Weather forecasts project Friday and Saturday to bring sunny skies and warmer weather, while Sunday has rain in the forecast.

It's almost time to dust off the bats and gloves, as baseball returns to the Druid City once again. Bohannon began the festivities at Baumhower's Sports Grill on Monday, appearing with the hosts of "Hey Coach!" to preview the upcoming year.

Alabama enters its sixth season under head coach Brad Bohannon, the longtime assistant for Kentucky and Auburn, coming off three consecutive 30-win seasons (excluding the COVID year and 16-1 start to 2020). The Tide narrowly missed last year's NCAA Tournament with 31 wins, although the program did earn a berth in 2021 and is poised for another big year behind Jim Jarvis and Andrew Pinckney.

In the coming days leading up to the season, we will go further in depth and break down this year's Crimson Tide roster, including predictions and analysis for conference play and the entire slate of games.
