Alabama has dealt with injuries during the early portion of SEC play, with Chris Youngblood still recovering from his offseason injury. Alabama also lost Latrell Wrightsell Jr. during the Player's Era Festival against Oregon to an Achilles injury, opening the possibility of retaining him on the 2025-2026 Alabama basketball roster due to a medical redshirt.

Alabama faces another medical redshirting decision, as Houston Mallette will miss tonight's contest due to injury. Alabama head coach Nate Oats said during media availability on Monday,

“Houston had two really bad knees when he came in,” Oats said. “He’s made a ton of progress on them since he got here. They continue to have to be evaluated and he goes backwards on some stuff. He’s still got a limited practice deal so we’re gonna keep him out tomorrow.”

While Mallette's injury is certainly not good news, Alabama could shut him down for the season and implement a medical redshirt, as Mallette has played less than 30% of the season so far for Alabama.

The injury front is not all bad news, however. Derrion Reid, who is listed as questionable, did miss the South Dakota State game with an ankle injury but has played since then. Reid has charted 16.7 minutes per game since then, averaging 10.3 points per game in three contests against SEC play.

Clifford Omoruyi rolled his ankle during Alabama's 94-88 victory over Texas A&M on Saturday but is not listed on Alabama's injury report, so he will be available for the Crimson Tide on Tuesday evening.

Ole Miss lists Mikeal Brown-Jones as questionable, who averages 6.1 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 0.4 assists per game on 54% shooting from the field. He only played four minutes in Ole Miss's 63-51 victory over Georgia on Saturday, January 4, and has not played in Ole Miss's two most recent games against Arkansas and LSU.

Tip-off between Alabama and Ole Miss is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT on ESPN U. Radio broadcast of the game can be heard on Tide 100.9 and 95.3 The Bear.
