Alabama Basketball Hires GA as Director of Scouting & Analytics

Nate Oats and Alabama are known for a heavy reliance on analytics when coaching and playing basketball games. The Alabama staff has added another statistician as a member of the support staff.

Brady Goka was a graduate assistant at the University of Alabama from 2022-2024, assisting Nate Oats and the Crimson Tide on an offense that finished with a top-30 offense in adjusted efficiency from 2020-2024. Goka also assisted former Alabama assistant coach Charlie Henry with defensive scouting looks, contributing to an Alabama defense that finished No. 3 in adjusted defensive efficiency in 2021 and 2023.

Goka has now been hired on as a full-time staffer for Alabama Men's Basketball, according to a press release from the university. Goka was also a student manager of the basketball team from 2020-2022 before becoming a graduate assistant ahead of the 2023 season.

Goka also served as a student manager of Michigan State basketball from 2019-2020 before moving to Tuscaloosa to help out Oats and the Crimson Tide.

Goka's official full-time title with Alabama basketball is Director of Scouting and Analytics. He will work closely with Oats in the analytics department not of games while also working hand-in-hand with Preston Murphy, who has been viewed as the recruiting "ace" for Alabama Men's Basketball.
