“Alabama is no longer recruiting Jaykwon Walton and he will not be a student-athlete at The University of Alabama,” says the statement sent to local media.
Walton was arrested with another man, 21-year-old Kameron Deshawn Harris, following Alabama's annual A-Day game and charged with second-degree possession of marijuana.
He committed to play at the University of Alabama in March shortly after the team's appearance in the NCAA tournament ended.
