The Compensation Committee of the University of Alabama System Board of Trustees met on Friday and approved contracts for double-digit coaches and staff for the Crimson Tide.

The majority of the meeting centered around new deals for Kalen DeBoer's coaching staff at Alabama. Eight returning assistants received new contracts, with Chuck Morrell being promoted to linebackers coach and earning a pay bump.

Two new contracts were approved for Alabama's two new hires in offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb and defensive backs coach Jason Jones. Grubb received a two-year deal, averaging $1 million per season. Meanwhile, Jason Jones received a two-year deal with a value of $250,000 in year one and $450,000 in year two.

Grubb's $1 million contract gives the Crimson Tide five assistant coaches who make $1 million or more.

Kane Wommack - $1.7 million
Nick Sheridan - $1.45 million
Freddie Roach - $1.2 million
JaMarcus Shephard - $1.1 million
Ryan Grubb - $1 million

Only two on-field assistant coaches did not receive new contracts - defensive coordinator Kane Wommack and quarterbacks coach Nick Sheridan.

In addition to the new coaching contracts, two critical assistants received three-year deals: Jeff Allen and David Ballou.

General Manager Courtney Morgan also received a salary bump, increasing from $825,000 in year one to $875,000 in year two.
