Alabama Commit Emmanuel Henderson Clears 5,000 Career Rushing Yards
Alabama Crimson Tide class of 2022 commit, 5-star running back out of Geneva County High School, Emmanuel Henderson cleared a career milestone during his senior season. Henderson rushed for 251 yards against Abbeville on Sept. 17 and has now amassed over 5,000 career rushing yards for the Bulldogs.
“It means a lot,” said Henderson to Meridith Mulkey of WTVY. “Just shows that my work is paying off. All the hard work. The dedication. I’ve been working my whole life grinding it out. Being a great leader, working with my teammates. Without my teammates I wouldn’t be able to get the 5,000 yards. So, I’m really grateful for that.”
Henderson, is considered the No. 1 running back prospect in the nation and the No. 2 prospect in the state of Alabama behind Jeremiah Alexander and committed to the Crimson Tide in March of 2021.
The 6-foot-1 tailback has helped his team to a 3-2 overall record and is roughly 450 yards away from breaking the Bulldogs school record for rushing yards. He is averaging nearly 13 yards per carry through the first half of his senior year.
Through five games in 2021, Henderson has taken 76 carries for 1,010 yards and 15 touchdowns. He hopes to carry his Bulldogs further than their second round exit of the AHSAA Class 2A playoffs in 2020.
