Alabama Dual-Sport Receiver Enters Transfer Portal
The Crimson Tide lost its second wide receiver in as many days, and the sixth wide receiver during the transfer portal window with Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports reporting that Alabama wide receiver Amari Jefferson is entering the transfer portal.
Jefferson was a four-star, top-200 overall prospect in the class of 2024 recruiting cycle. The 6-foot, 197-pound wide receiver attended Baylor High School in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Jefferson originally committed to the Tennessee Volunteers in 2021 to play baseball before gaining steam on the recruiting trail as a wide receiver. In March 2023, Alabama offered Jefferson a football scholarship. In August 2023, ahead of his senior season, Jefferson committed to the Crimson Tide. He signed with Alabama in December 2023 and enrolled at Capstone in May 2024.
He did not appear in any games for Alabama in 2024 but was named a "scout team" player of the week for the Crimson Tide ahead of Alabama's victory over South Carolina.
