Alabama Duo Named Freshmen All-SEC
Tuscaloosa, AL - The Alabama Crimson Tide saw major contributions from freshmen in a season they needed new faces to grasp expanded roles. The duo that stepped up the most for Alabama both started all 12 games for the Crimson Tide this season and were both named Freshmen All-SEC by the Southeastern Conference.
Ryan Williams and Zabien Brown made their contributions known early, with both players making significant plays in Alabama's biggest win of the season - a 41-34 victory over the Georgia Bulldogs.
Williams made the list twice, being named Freshman All-SEC at wide receiver and all-purpose, while Zabien Brown made it as a cornerback.
Williams's biggest game was against the Georgia Bulldogs, where he caught six passes for 177 yards and the game-winning touchdown over the Bulldogs.
Zabien Brown made his contributions in that game as well, sealing the victory for the Crimson Tide with an interception of Georgia quarterback Carson Beck in the end zone with less than one minute remaining in the game.
Williams ended the season with 45 catches for 857 yards and eight touchdowns.
Brown ended the season with 13 tackles, two pass breakups, and two interceptions.
Both players are expected to contribute to the Crimson Tide for the next couple of seasons before potentially entering the NFL draft as two of the top prospects in the 2027 NFL draft.
