Alabama Earns Commitment from 2026 DB
The recruiting trail for 2026 has started to heat for Alabama under Kalen DeBoer, with the Crimson Tide earning its first commitment in the 2026 class.
No position on Alabama's roster was decimated more than defensive back when Nick Saban retired. Multiple starters and projected starters transferred from the program, as well as several depth pieces.
Kalen DeBoer and his staff did a good job replenishing the depth with the spring transfer window. Still, the Crimson Tide will likely be in the same position next offseason, with likely the entire starting secondary except for true freshman Zabien Brown heading to the NFL. Alabama will need to continue to bolster its defensive back room through high school commitments, and they just earned their first for 2026.
According to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports, Jackson High School defensive back Jamarrion "Juice" Gordon has committed to Alabama as the first commitment in the 2026 recruiting class.
Gordon is a four-star defensive back according to composite and the No. 10 overall safety in the state of Alabama. On3 Sports has Gordon as the No. 10 overall cornerback in the state of Alabama.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound prospect committed to Alabama over Oregon, UCF, South Carolina, Miami, Penn State, Tennessee, Florida, LSU, and Georgia. The primary recruiter for Gordon was Alabama defensive back coach Maurice Linguist.
Jordan earned an offer from Alabama on April 9. In two years at Jackson High School, he has totaled 72 tackles, 10 pass breakups, three tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
