Alabama Earns Commitment from 4-Star CB
The Alabama Crimson Tide has been hot on the recruiting trail to start the summer under Kalen DeBoer. Alabama flipped four-star quarterback Keelon Russell from SMU earlier in the week, and now, the Tide gets some help on the defensive side of the ball.
According to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports, four-star Mater Dei cornerback Chuck McDonald has committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide.
According to composite, McDonald is rated as the No. 76 overall prospect and the No. 9 cornerback in the class.
McDonald is a starter for Mater Dei and a two-sport athlete, running track for the school as well. Standing at 6 feet and half an inch and 190 pounds, McDonald committed to Alabama over Georgia, Oregon, and USC.
He had visits scheduled for Georgia, Oregon, and USC, but those plans could change with the fluidity of recruiting. He currently is not set to visit Georgia anymore.
Alabama clearly has West Coast ties with the pursuit of recruits, and it seems to be working with Alabama landing the McDonald commitment and sitting in a good spot for Mission Viejo cornerback Dijon Lee.
Alabama's 2025 recruiting class currently looks like this:
- Keelon Russell - 4-star QB
- Chuck McDonald III - 4-star CB
- Darrell Johnson - 4-star LB
- Derick Smith - 4-star S
- Antonio Coleman - 4-star DL
- Anthony Rogers - 4-star RB
- Jaedon Harmon - 4-star LB
- Myles Johnson - 4-star LB
- Zymear Smith - 3-star ATH
- Abduall Sanders Jr. - 3-star LB
- Lotzier Brooks - 3-star WR
- Luke Metz - 3-star LB
