Alabama Earns Second Commit in As Many Days
Alabama earns its second commitment in as many days, dipping back into the peach state for a big-time recruiting pickup along the defensive line.

According to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports, four-star edge rusher Jamarion Matthews has committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide.
The 6-foot-3, 240-pound edge defender chose the Crimson Tide over LSU, Florida State, and Clemson.
In his commitment post, Matthews said "I don't give a piss about nothing but the Tide!" a reference to Roll Tide Willie.
Matthews is rated as a four-star prospect from Gainesville High School in Gainesville, Georgia. He is a top-200 player, being ranked No. 199 nationally, the No. 17 edge defender in the 2026 recruiting class, and the No. 26 player in the state of Georgia.
Matthews was in Tuscaloosa to experience Alabama's 28-14 victory over Auburn in the Iron Bowl in November.
Alabama offered Matthews on October 26, 2024.
Matthews used to be an in-state recruit, playing his junior year of high school at Harvest Sparkman, where he had 57 tackles, 29 tackles for loss, 17 sacks, 15 quarterback hurries, and one forced fumble in 10 games in 2024. He transferred to Gainesville (Ga.) ahead of his senior season.
He is the third commitment for Alabama in the 2026 recruiting class, joining four-stars Zyan Gibson (cornerback, Gadsen, Alabama) and Chris Booker (offensive lineman, Atlanta, Georgia).
Alabama now has the No. 32 ranked recruiting class in 2026.
