Alabama has risen to a 7-2 record under first-year Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer, and the success on the field is translating to success off the field. According to most major recruiting services, Alabama currently holds the No. 2 recruiting class in the country, and the Crimson Tide just added to it.

According to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports, Alabama has FLIPPED Michigan safety commit Ivan Taylor.

Taylor had been committed to the defending national champion Wolverines since July 8, 2024. Standing at six feet tall and 174 pounds, Taylor took an official visit to Alabama during one of the Crimson Tide's big recruiting weekends on June 7.

The Class of 2025 defensive back is from West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Florida. He is rated as the No. 60 overall player in the class of 2025, and the No. 9 player in the state of Florida.

Andrew Ivans, Director of Scouting at 247 Sports, had this to say about Taylor:

"A high-IQ safety prospect with elite NFL bloodlines and a top-flight testing profile. Measured roughly 6-foot, 170 pounds spring before junior campaign, clocking a 4.5-second effort in the 40-yard dash that day to go along with a 4.25-second short shuttle. Quick-footed with plenty of agility. Has spent most of prep career working in a two-deep system and has shown that he can get where he needs to be. Competitive at the catch point and does a nice job of turning his head to find the football. A sound open-field tackler at this stage that will launch at legs and get ball carries on the ground. However, needs to get a little bit better at getting off blocks and sifting through traffic. Will eventually need to add some mass and improve play strength, but should be viewed as a potential multi-year starter for a top 25 program. Likely to find a home at the third level of a defense, but sticky enough in man-coverage possibly warrant a look as an inside corner on Saturdays."
Ivan Taylor is the son of former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor, who was a two-time Super Bowl Champion. Before committing to Michigan, Ivan Taylor had been committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish since December 1, 2023. In his high school career, Taylor has totaled 130 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, nine pass breakups, four forced fumbles,  five interceptions, 0.5 sacks, and one pick-six.Alabama will look to replace five-year veteran Malachi Moore in the secondary, and potentially others, with Taylor having an opportunity to arrive on campus and contribute early in his Alabama career.Alabama currently still has the No. 2 overall recruiting class in the country.
