According to reports, Alabama will play Florida State in Boutwell Auditorium in an exhibition math at 7:00 p.m. on October 16. It marks the second-consecutive preseason that Alabama is playing an exhibition match in Boutwell. During the 2024 season, Alabama faced Wake Forest in Birmingham.

Alabama women's basketball will also face Florida State in an exhibition match in Boutwell Auditorium, slated for a noon tip-off on October 16.

Last season, the matchup was titled "Bama in Boutwell." However, it's now called "Ballin' in Boutwell", with the matchups including Alabama men's and women's basketball's bouts against Florida State, and Auburn men's basketball taking on Oklahoma State on Wednesday, October 15. Alabama A&M men's basketball will also play Samford on Monday, October 13.

Alabama men's basketball currently holds an 8-8 all-time record against Florida State, with the last matchup coming on November 27, 2009, when the Seminoles toppled the Tide 60-51.

This matchup, while not counting towards the record books, will count for one player on the Tide's roster: Taylor Bol Bowen. Bol Bowen transferred to Alabama from Florida State during the May transfer portal window after the conclusion of the college basketball season.

Bol Bowen, a junior from Jericho, Vermont, stands at 6-foot-10 and 195 pounds. He started 27 games for Florida State last season, averaging eight points and 5.2 rebounds while shooting 47.7% from the floor and 41.4% from three.
