Which Alabama Players are Slated to Miss the Season Opener?
It's officially game week as the Crimson Tide opens its season on August 30 against the Florida State Seminoles. While the Seminoles have released their week one depth chart, the Crimson Tide will likely wait until gameday to unveil the initial starting lineup of the season.

Alabama will be without two projected starters on Saturday, however. Starting running back Jam Miller is expected to be out until Alabama takes on Georgia with a dislocated collarbone. On Monday, Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer said that last year's starter at right guard, Jaeden Roberts, would likely miss the opening contest of the season.
"I would say Jaeden Roberts is still in question, just with what he’s going through in the protocol and the process there," DeBoer said. "He’s progressing, he’s progressing, so we’ll kind of see here."
Roberts started 12 games for Alabama last season at right guard, only missing Alabama's win over Mercer. He is currently dealing with a concussion that he suffered earlier in Fall camp, which kept him out of both of Alabama's fall scrimmages. In his place, second-year Michigan State transfer guard Geno VanDeMark has practiced with the first team offensive line at right guard.
