Football season may have ended last Monday, but Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide scored a big victory on Monday, securing a verbal commitment from ESPN 150 Linebacker Tim Williams from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Williams, an impressive athlete at 6-foot-4, 230lbs fills a need for Alabama after the recent decommitment of highly rated defensive end/linebacker prospect DeMarcus Walker.  However, with a forty yard dash timed in the 4.6 second range, Williams is less likely to project at defensive end, and more likely to play linebacker at the collegiate level.

ESPN Tide Nation's Greg Ostendorf joined The Game with Ryan Fowler and Mick Gillispie and said Williams commitment did not come as a surprise after this past weekend's visit.

Now with just more than 20 days remaining until national signing day, time is ticking as the Crimson Tide look to secure only a handful of commitments to this year's signing class that already includes eight early enrolees (including three-star quarterback Luke Del Rio who is walking on).  Although time is running out, there are still plenty of elite players still undecided.

Shortly after Ostendorf's appearence on The Game ESPN 150 defensive lineman Dee Liner announced he had decommited from Auburn University. Alabama is considered to be the favorite to land the 6-foot-2, 275lbs standout from Muscle Shoals.
