Alabama Forward Enters Transfer Portal
The men's basketball transfer portal continues to operate in the Spring, and the Tide have already lost two scholarship players to the transfer portal. Davin Cosby, who will be remembered for his shooting performance against Ole Miss, scored 15 points to elevate the TIde to an SEC road win. Kris Parker, the other scholarship player, was redshirted for the 2023-2024 season and put out a practice highlight tape before entering the portal.
Alabama also lost forward Max Scharnowski to the portal, although he was not a scholarship player. The Tide have added two players via the portal, and might not be done yet. However, the additions will have to wait, as Alabama loses another freshman from the 2023 recruiting class.
Sam Walters, who was a three-point contributor to Alabama's 2023-2024 run, has entered the transfer portal according to Joe Tipton of On3 Sports.
Walters, a 6-foot-10, 198-pound forward, averaged 5.4 points per game, in 12.3 minutes per game during the season. Where he lacked in defense, he made up for in three-point percentage, averaging 39% from three a season ago.
