On Monday, the Southeastern Conference announced Alabama closer Dylan Ray was selected for the 2022 All-SEC Freshman Baseball Team.

A native of New Market, Alabama, Ray made 15 appearances and collected 27.1 total innings in relief on the mound for the Tide. He collected a team-leading six saves on the year, allowing only 14 walks to 43 total strikeouts.

He also led the Tide relievers in strikeouts and held opponents to a .208 batting average in 2022.

Ray initially came to Tuscaloosa prior to the 2021 season but was shut down for his true-freshman season due to injury.
