Alabama Freshman Named Biletnikoff Semifinalist

The Biletnikoff is one of the most coveted awards in college football, awarded annually to the best wide receiver in college football. Several winners have continued their careers in the National Football League and become superstars on the national stage.

The Crimson Tide is familiar with the Biletnikoff Award, with three winners in program history (Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy, DeVonta Smith) and another finalist (Jameson Williams).

Several other Crimson Tide receivers have been on the award watch list and semifinalist list, and another was just added to the long list of stars from Tuscaloosa.

According to the award's social media account on Tuesday, Alabama freshman wide receiver Ryan Williams was named a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award.

Williams burst onto the scene as a true freshman at Alabama, catching two passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns in his first collegiate game. Williams hasn't had the same performance down the stretch of the regular season, but he still has amassed an impressive 767 yards on 40 catches with 10 total touchdowns.

Williams still has the potential to eclipse 1,000 yards receiving in the regular season and should eclipse the total should Alabama play in the postseason.

The Biletnikoff Award will be awarded on December 12.
