Alabama Freshman Receiver Enters Transfer Portal
With the news of Alabama's shortcomings regarding the College Football Playoff, the transfer portal and draft declarations for Alabama Football should begin to heat up before the Crimson Tide's game against the Michigan Wolverines in the Reliaquest Bowl on December 31.
Alabama has already seen four players enter the transfer portal so far, and now, another wide receiver joins Kobe Prentice in the portal, with Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports reporting freshman wide receiver Caleb Odom is entering the transfer portal.
Odom was ranked as a five-star prospect and one of the top tight ends in the country out of Carrollton High School in Georgia. After arriving in Tuscaloosa, Alabama's wide receiver coach advocated for Odom to switch to wide receiver.
Odom totaled seven catches for 65 yards this season for Alabama.
Odom appeared in all 12 games for Alabama this season, with his biggest game in terms of receiving coming in week one against Western Kentucky when he hauled in two catches for 23 yards.
Odom had previously shown some discontent with the Crimson Tide's gameplan earlier this season, especially following the Vanderbilt loss.
Odom originally committed to Alabama over Texas A&M, Florida, and Ole Miss, and the 6-foot-5, 227-pound prospect took an official visit to the Penn State Nittany Lions during his recruitment.
