The Alabama Crimson Tide finished their season today with a heartbreaking loss to the Michigan Wolverines in the Reliaquest Bowl in Tampa, Florida.

The ending score was 19-13 after a failed drive and failed 4th down conversion at the end of the game prompting Michigan to kneel the clock out.

Deboer had to much to say about the Alabama team in their last match-up before the off-season. He made it clear  that “the guys played their hearts out…never going to question the competitiveness.”
“Some guys out there are playing through a lot when it comes to even just physical pain that they’re trying to grind through and finish this thing off right”

Deboer was asked about a decision to go for it on 4th and 7 early in the 4th quarter and whether there was strong consideration to kick the field goal after the offense was unable to convert.

“He can kick the one at the end from that distance, just felt like we were on the fringe of really what the percentages were.” Deboer continued with, “understanding who we are and again it sounds like you don’t have confidence in your kicker, which I do but it just felt like we could convert a 4th and 7, but unfortunately, we didn’t.”
Despite a lot of questions about Jalen Milroe's performance, Deboer still highlighted some good that came from
him, citing “going 95 yards in under 1 minute using his legs” as a big factor in why he decided to leave Jalen Milroe in the game despite starting off shaky.
Deboer went on to say, “I thought there were still a lot of good plays he made too and I saw a fighter, the fight in his eyes, and as long as I see that I want to hang in there with the guys this program means a lot to.”
With many key Alabama players entering the transfer portal, graduating, or entering the NFL Draft there are many questions following this game on whether or not the Alabama dynasty is coming to an end. Officially ending the season with a record of 9-4, the Crimson Tide now begin the offseason.
