Alabama Hires Ryan Grubb as Offensive Coordinator
Tuscaloosa, Ala. - The University of Alabama made a huge hire to its offensive staff on Sunday evening. Ryan Grubb, the longtime offensive coordinator under Kalen DeBoer, has been hired as Alabama's offensive coordinator, according to Pete Nakos of On3 Sports.

Grubb worked with DeBoer for two seasons in Seattle, Washington as a member of the Washington Huskies coaching staff. Grubb briefly joined DeBoer in Tuscaloosa at Alabama before being hired as the offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks.
Grubb was fired after one season in Seattle.
Now, Grubb will join his friend back in Tuscaloosa, where they have been apart for just one year.
Nick Sheridan was the offensive coordinator for Alabama in 2024.
Grubb was with DeBoer while both were at Sioux Falls, where Grubb was the run game coordinator and offensive line coach. After three years away from DeBoer, they re-joined forces at Eastern Michigan, where Grubb was the offensive line coach in Kalen DeBoer's offense. Grubb followed DeBoer to Fresno State, where he was the assistant head coach, offensive coordinator, and offensive line coach.
Once DeBoer took the head coaching job at Washington, Grubb once again followed, being named the assistant head coach, offensive coordinator, and quarterbacks coach for two seasons. Grubb was briefly hired at Alabama for one month before returning to Seattle to take over as the Seahawks' offensive coordinator. A year later, Grubb was fired and will now join Kalen DeBoer in Tuscaloosa.
The status of Nick Sheridan is currently unknown at this time.
ESPN's Pete Thamel also reports that Grubb will be the offensive play-caller for Alabama in 2025.
