Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer joined the Martin Houston Show on Tide 100.9 on Thursday morning, where he broke some news about the Crimson Tide's coaching staff. According to Kalen DeBoer, Alabama has hired former Oregon and Stanford offensive assistant and former USC Offensive lineman Viane Talamaivao to help coach Alabama's offensive line.

Talamaivao was a four-star offensive lineman from Corona, California, in the 2014 recruiting class and was once committed to the University of Alabama before flipping to the USC Trojans on signing day. After his playing days, the former standout offensive lineman was an assistant offensive line coach at USC before making his way to Oregon, where he worked alongside new Alabama offensive line coach Adrian Klemm during the 2022 season with the Ducks.

He most recently worked as the co-offensive line coach at Stanford, and was hired away from the Cardinal in January 2026, when Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reported that Cal had hired him to be the offensive tackles coach and run game coordinator under new head coach Tosh Lupoi, who worked with Talamaivao at Oregon.

Talamaivao is the second addition Alabama has made to its coaching staff this week after hiring former South Alabama offensive lineman Noah Fisher, who worked with new tight ends coach Richard Owens at Louisville, to help coach Alabama's tight ends.
