Alabama Hosting Baylor Transfer Safety
The Alabama Crimson Tide continues hosting players via the transfer portal, with several visitors slated to be in Tuscaloosa before the dead period begins on Sunday at midnight.
Alabama added another visitor to the list on Saturday, with Pete Nakos of On3 Sports reporting that Alabama is hosting Baylor transfer safety, Corey Gordon Jr.
Gordon is a 6-foot-2, 191-pound safety from Putnam City West High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was a redshirt sophomore for Baylor in 2024, totaling 34 tackles, two tackles for loss, three picks, and two pass breakups. In 2023, he started four games, appearing in 11 for the Bears, totaling 30 tackles, one tackle for loss, and four pass breakups.
Coming out of high school in Oklahoma, Gordon was a three-star safety and ranked as the No. 735 overall prospect in the class of 2022. Baylor was the only school he visited officially, but he held offers from Hawaii, South Dakota State, and New Mexico, among others.
Alabama's safety room saw the departure of starting Husky DeVonta Smith, who signed with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish last week, while Alabama is also losing Malachi Moore to the NFL. Moore is out of eligibility following the Crimson Tide's bowl game against Michigan.
