Alabama Lands Second Transfer of the Off-Season
Nate Oats continues to reload after the Tide's early Sweet 16 exit, adding grad transfer guard Aaron Estrada. The New Jersey native is set to help ease the loss of superstar Brandon Miller, who averaged a team-high 19 points.
Alabama was in Estrada's final list.
Estrada, a two-time CAA Player of the Year at Hofstra, started his collegiate career at St. Peters before transferring to Oregon. Estrada transferred to Hofstra in 2021.
During his time in Long Island, the 6-foot-3 guard averaged 19.3 points, 4.6 assists, and 1.5 steals, leading the Pride to a NIT berth in 2023.
With the looming decisions of Mark Sears and Jahvon Quinerly, Estrada adds security and reliability to a position group that leaves plenty to prove heading into the 2023-24 season. However, if Quinerly and/or Sears return, Estrada gives Alabama some of the best guard play in the country.
