Alabama Lands Top 100 LB

Suppose you're one of the top linebackers in the 2024 recruiting class. In that case, you've more than likely heard from the University of Alabama, as the Crimson Tide have been on fire recruiting linebackers, with now five linebackers in the Crimson Tide's 2025 recruiting class.

Alabama continues to bolster its linebacker room with a commitment from top-100 linebacker Dawson Merritt Stillwell, Kansas.

Merritt is a four-star prospect according to composite. He's the No. 92 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class, the No. 11 overall linebacker in the class, and the No. 3 overall player in the state of Kansas.

In 2023, Merritt totaled 83 tackles and 17 tackles for loss, seven sacks, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries as a junior in high school.

After watching Merritt's hudl, he has experience both pass rushing off the edge and in coverage. He has shown. the ability to set the edge in the run game and when he commits to the ball carrier, he's explosive and does not seem to miss many tackles.

Merritt committed to the Crimson Tide over the Nebraska Cornhuskers. His primary recruiter was Charles Robinson, Alabama's outside linebacker coach.
