Alabama Linebacker Enters Transfer Portal
Alabama linebacker Jackson Bratton is entering the transfer portal according to Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports. Bratton is a former 4-star recruit out of Muscle Shoals High School in the class of 2020.
Bratton has not appeared in any games for the Crimson Tide in his two seasons of college football. The linebacker was considered the No. 5 player in the state of Alabama and the No. 10 inside backer in the class of 2020.
Bratton becomes the fourth Alabama player to enter the transfer portal during the 2021 season following Xavier Williams, Marcus Banks and Pierce Quick.
The Crimson Tide inside linebacker room has been a crowded place the last few years. Alabama's Christian Harris has been a mainstay in the middle but he's had a revolving door of partners during his tenure with the Tide. Alabama's seen Shane Lee, Dylan Moses and now Henry To'o To'o playing inside for the Tide.
The Tide will likely lose Harris and To'o To'o this offseason to the NFL Draft creating a huge void in the middle of the defense. Alabama has been recruiting the position heavily since the 2019 season and has several players with potential to make an impact in 2022.
The Tide will likely turn to Deonte Lawson, Kendrick Blackshire, Ian Jackson and more to fill the void. Alabama also has Shawn Murphey and Robert Woodyard committed in the 2022 class, easing the pain of Bratton's departure.
