Alabama Makes Final Five for Highly Coveted South Florida Receiver
Alabama is back in the sunshine state on the recruiting trail, with the Crimson Tide making the final list of schools for a highly coveted wide receiver in South Florida.

South Florida is known for producing elite wide receiver talent, and Alabama has developed a bit of a pipeline with South Florida receivers. Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy, and Calvin Ridley were all from South Florida. In modern college football, Jeremiah Smith, the standout wide receiver at Ohio State, is also from South Florida.
The Crimson Tide and head coach Kalen DeBoer are looking to redevelop that pipeline. According to his X account, Alabama is among the top five schools for four-star wide receiver Somourian Wingo Jr.
Alabama is joined by three more SEC schools and Miami.
The list of schools in alphabetical order is:
Alabama
Florida
LSU
Miami
South Carolina
Wingo is a four-star receiver from St. Augustine High School in Saint Augustine, Florida. During his junior season in 2024, Wingo caught 71 passes for 1,119 yards and 14 touchdowns according to his highlight tape.
According to the On3 Sports Visit Tracker for Wingo, he has not visited Alabama yet. However, he does have an official visit scheduled for the weekend of June 13. He has taken one visit to South Carolina so far, four visits to Miami, and five visits to Florida.
He has official visits scheduled to Miami, Florida, Alabama, and South Carolina. He currently has no visit scheduled to LSU. Alabama offered Wingo on January 30.
