Alabama Offensive Linemen Talk Depth Chart Shuffle
On Sunday, Alabama starting right guard Jaeden Roberts was spotted working with the second team offensive line, with Geno VanDeMark taking reps with the first string alongside left guard Kam Dewberry.

Kalen DeBoer cited VanDeMark's positional versatility as a reason for the switch, easing the concerns of Tide fans who thought Roberts may have been demoted. VanDeMark started two games at guard for Alabama last season, mostly filling in on a rotation with Roberts when Roberts needed a breather on a drive.
On Monday, both Jaeden Roberts and Geno VanDeMark were made available for questions during Alabama's media day. Here's what they both had to say about Roberts working with the second team.
"Regardless of whatever room I'm with, trying to just go block the guy in front of me and play the best football I can with whoever is next to me," VanDeMark said. "So I think that's just where my mindset is at regarding whatever group I'm with. I'm not really worried too much about that throughout camp. We have several different rotations Coach Kap's got going on."
"Coach Kap has really done a good job of making it apparent that nobody has a definite job," Roberts said. "You're working every day to show and compete your worth, and what you're trying to do for the team.
"You can't ever relax," Roberts continued. "You gotta show up every day, grind, and make sure that you're making it apparent that you gotta be on the field. The rotation doesn't mean anything. You can go in second team, first team, you just got to be that guy. At the end of the day, you got to show that you're here to work and you're here for the team."
