Alabama’s Offensive Line Getting Better, On the Same Page in Spring
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Crimson Tide's offensive line will need to improve drastically from last season, and it starts with communication in the front five, starting with the center.

Alabama's offensive line featured several different looks last season, but for the most part, on A-Day, the Crimson Tide's starting five didn't change, with Jackson Lloyd at left tackle, Mal Waldrep Jr. at left guard, Cal Poly transfer Racin Delgatty at center, Michael Carroll at right guard, and Mississippi State transfer Jayvin James at right tackle.
How did the Crimson Tide's head coach feel the offensive line performed on Saturday?
"What I do feel is that their communication, their technique, and execution is getting better," head coach Kalen DeBoer said. "It's not something that happens overnight. They continue to work. We still have a whole week ahead of us in practice, and we expect them to get better. I think from the center on out, the communication, guys are on the same page."
The Tide's starting five did not give up a "sack" on Saturday, with the caveat that the Tide's quarterbacks wore black, non-contact jerseys, and anytime they escaped the pocket, officials would blow a whistle and end the play before the quarterbacks could be hit in the open field.
"There are not a lot of guys busting assignments, which is going to happen here and there still in the spring," DeBoer continued. "New faces have been inserted, but I thought for the most part, we are getting the play off to a good start here in the early stages of spring."
